Sydney’s warehouse conversion fad, which started with Redfern’s Watertower, had it's 30 anniversary

Sydney’s first warehouse conversion is celebrating its 30th anniversary – and the way in which people see inner-city living. It had not been done before in Sydney, and to some the idea of living in a former warehourse seemed insane. Howerver, despite the criticism, Redfern’s Watertower apartment building was opened on October 18, 1984 by the then Alderman Clover Moore of Redfern Ward.
